Join us for this important Nursing Symposium as we learn about the very specialized field of S.A.F.E. (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) nursing, from the perspective of a victim, a S.A.F.E. nurse and a Victim’s Assistance Representative.

Attendees will learn what the job functions and expectations are of a S.A.F.E. nurse and the impact that role has on the successful prosecution of predators. The function of the Victim’s Assistance Center will also be discussed and how it collaborates with healthcare for sexual assault/abuse victims.
Guest presenters will be Kristin Poth, RN, FNE A/P SANE-A, a certified S.A.F.E. nurse from Hanover Hospital and Kristen Sechrist, Victims Assistance Center. A survivor will also present her personal story.
Participation is FREE and includes dinner and 1.5 Continuing Education credits. All nurses are welcome to participate. Hanover Hospital is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
