National Children's Grief Awareness Day will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013. Children's Grief Awareness Day is designed to help us all become more aware of the needs of grieving children and of the benefits that they obtain through the support of others. Olivia's House- A Grief and Loss Center for Children will be holding an Open House at its new center on 101 Baltimore Street in Hanover in conjunction with National Children Grief Awareness Day.
Olivia's House has been serving grieving children and their families in south central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland since 2002 at its center in York. In order to better serve the grieving families of Hanover and its surrounding communities Olivia's House has opened a second grief center in downtown Hanover. Olivia's House offers a variety of no-cost programs and services to meet the many needs of grieving families. These programs and services include: Pre-Death Support, Peer Support Programs, a Grief Lending Library, and Professional Mental Health Services.
On National Children's Grief Awareness Day (November 21), Olivia's House will open its doors at its Hanover facility to show the community what they have helped bring to the Hanover and Adams County communities. Visitors can take tours of the center as well as learn more about the programs and services of Olivia's House. The Open House will start at 1:30 PM and end at 3:30 PM.
