Currently led by a passionate group of volunteers, and supported by the greater Hanover community, we are seeking an Executive Director to take us to the next level. The Society was founded in 1965 by local citizens interested in protecting and promoting the historical heritage of the greater Hanover Area. In 1974, the Society purchased and restored the 1783 Neas House with all funding coming from the community. Then in 2007, the Society was given the Warehime-Myers Mansion by William J. Warehime along with an endowment to promote and preserve it. In 2014 we acquired a small rental space for the Yelland Research Library. In 2024 we were presented the opportunity to move our library to the historic 1911 portion of the Guthrie Library which was made possible by an endowment from the Way foundation, the Hormel family and the Weber family. We have endless possibilities for our future to “preserve, protect and promote the historical story of the Hanover area” with an Executive Director to drive our growth and sustainability.
