BOROUGH COUNCIL ACTIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS: Mayor Hormel swore in Nicholas Michael Carroll and Christopher Robert Rockel to the Hanover Borough Police Department.
PROCLAMATION OF PARKS AND RECREATION
The Hanover Market House is excited to announce the return of its Mid-Week Market, happening every Thursday at 5PM throughout July, August, and September. Hanover, Pa. – While there are currently no cases of New World Screwworm (NWS) in the state, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Animal Health has issued a quarantine order that took effect on June 9, 2026.
New World Screwworm is a parasite whose larvae eat the flesh of warm-blooded animals. It can devastate entire herds and flocks. Previously eradicated from the US in 1966, the parasite has recently reemerged in the southern United States.
